Visiting Our Location:

Our location is a nurturing environment for our puppies and their parents, and we operate with specific visitation policies for their well-being and safety. Currently, visits are scheduled for individuals on our waiting list or during puppy pick-up. At 8 weeks, when you come to collect your puppy, you'll have the opportunity to meet their wonderful parents. We also arrange visits to see your chosen puppy post-vaccination. While in-person visits are limited, we ensure you have plenty of online visuals of our puppies on our website and social media.

Puppy Sizes and Coat Changes:

We specialize in medium/large Golden Retrievers, typically weighing between 60-80+ pounds. However, final adult size can vary due to factors like genetics and health. While we provide size estimates based on parents and previous litters, individual variations can occur. Puppiesโ€™ coats often change color as they mature, with ear flap color hinting at their adult coat. This transformation is a fascinating part of their growth journey!

Health Testing:

We prioritize our dogs' health by conducting thorough health tests on our parent dogs. These tests are essential to ensure our puppies are born healthy and genetically sound. We document these results and add them to our parent dogsโ€™ profiles as soon as they are available.

Location and Delivery:

Located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, we offer local delivery options and assist with transportation arrangements for out-of-state buyers. While delivery cannot be guaranteed for everyone, we aim to provide convenient solutions prioritizing our puppies' well-being and safety.

At Sun & Sand Goldens, we deeply care for the well-being of our Golden Retrievers throughout their lives. Therefore, we warmly welcome the return of any dog or puppy at any point in their life, should you be unable to care for them. Our priority is to prevent our beloved dogs from ending up in shelters or unfavorable situations. The decision regarding a refund, if applicable, will be made by the breeder on a case-by-case basis. Remember, our Goldens are always welcome back to the home where they were lovingly raised.

Puppy Package and Readiness:

Each puppy comes with a comprehensive health record, AKC registration papers, a complimentary puppy pack, and a microchip from 24petwatch. Puppies are ready for their new homes at 7-8 weeks, having received initial vaccines. We ensure they are in optimal health for a smooth transition to your family.

Puppy Availability and Temperament Selection:

For updates on available and upcoming litters, please visit our "UPCOMING LITTERS" and "AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION" pages. Selecting a puppy based on temperament can be guided by observing the parents and understanding breed traits, although individual development is influenced by training and environment.

Understanding Puppy Development Stages:

Puppy development stages encompass a series of critical periods that each puppy goes through as they grow and mature. Understanding these stages can help in providing the right care, training, and socialization for a healthy, well-adjusted dog. Here's a brief overview:

Throughout all these stages, providing a balanced diet, regular veterinary care, consistent training, socialization, and plenty of love and attention will help ensure a puppy grows up to be a healthy, well-adjusted dog. Remember, each puppy is unique and may progress through these stages at their own pace.
